CoopX : standard format to exchange information on projects hosting systems

After some discussions and reflexions initiated by the FSF France and the GET (ENST, ENST Bretagne et INT Evry), the CoopX project was born June, the 6th of 2001.

The goal of CoopX is to define a standard format based on XML to exchange information on projects hosted by facilities such as SourceForge, Serveur Libre, tuxfamily, Savannah. With this format a project maintainer could migrate his project from one hosting platform to the other or mirror it.

The format will be designed cooperatively by the development groups actively involved in the building and the maintainance of hosting facilities.

If you are aware of Savannah like (or SourceForge like ;-) servers in some countries, suggest the lead of this effort to join CoopX.
